Brothers, guests, and future Nupes — welcome to the online home of the Xi Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. For more than five decades, our chapter has planted its roots deep in the Tampa Bay community, producing leaders in law, medicine, business, education, and civic service.
The standard set by our founders at Indiana University in 1911 — that Kappa men achieve not in one field, but in every field of human endeavor — remains the measuring stick by which we carry ourselves today. We hold each brother to that standard, and we invite our community to hold us to it as well.

On January 5, 1911, Elder Watson Diggs and nine fellow students at Indiana University founded Kappa Alpha Psi — the first collegiate fraternity to be incorporated under the laws of Indiana. What began as a bold statement of aspiration during an era of profound hardship became one of the most distinguished fraternities in the world.
The Xi Lambda Chapter was chartered in Tampa, Florida in 1968, answering the call of a city in transformation. Through civil rights, economic development, and community uplift, Nupes of Xi Lambda have stood at the forefront of progress. Our alumni include mayors, judges, corporate executives, college presidents, and decorated military officers.
Today, the chapter continues that tradition — mentoring young men through Guide Right and Kappa League, awarding scholarships, and forging bonds of brotherhood that endure a lifetime.

Undergraduate men enrolled at accredited colleges or universities in Hillsborough County are eligible. Contact us to learn about intake processes through our undergraduate chapters.
College-educated men with a bachelor's degree and a commitment to community may apply for graduate (alumni) membership directly with Xi Lambda Chapter.
