Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. — Mu Lambda Chapter
"First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All"
Brothers, alumni, and guests — welcome to the digital home of Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Since our chartering here in Atlanta, we have remained committed to the timeless charge passed down from the jewels of Cornell: to be first in scholarship, first in service, and first in the uplift of our communities.
Our chapter represents over four decades of unbroken service to the Metro Atlanta region — mentoring young men, funding education, advancing civic engagement, and upholding the dignity of Black men in every field of endeavor. We are proud Alphas, and we invite you to stand with us.
Whether you are a brother returning home, a young man seeking purpose, or a partner in our mission — you are welcome here. The work continues.
Bro. Marcus L. Whitfield
President, Mu Lambda Chapter | Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York — the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans. Seven visionary young men, known as the Jewels, created a brotherhood that would shape the course of history.
From those Ivy League halls, the fraternity grew into a worldwide movement of scholars, civic leaders, and servants. Our illustrious roster includes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Thurgood Marshall, W.E.B. Du Bois, and generations of men who defined what excellence in service looks like.
Mu Lambda Chapter was chartered in Atlanta, Georgia in 1983, continuing this legacy of distinction in one of America's most historically rich cities. For over four decades, our brothers have served the community with the same fire that ignited that first chapter more than a century ago.
"First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All."— Motto of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., est. 1906

Alpha Phi Alpha is open to men of academic excellence, moral character, and a genuine desire to serve. Whether you are pursuing undergraduate or graduate membership, or returning to reactivate your bond with the brotherhood, Mu Lambda Chapter welcomes you home.
The Mu Lambda Chapter Scholarship Fund has been fueling futures since 1988. Each year, we award merit and need-based scholarships to deserving students in the Metro Atlanta area — young men and women who carry within them the promise of a better tomorrow.
Your contribution — of any size — directly funds a scholarship check that changes a family's trajectory. Our brothers match every dollar raised at our annual gala. Together, we have invested over a quarter million dollars in Atlanta's youth.
The scholarship application opens each January. Donors, partners, and community members who wish to contribute may do so at any time.
